Job Title: Development Engineer | Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 | Location: Hull

Reach Resourcing is proud to be working exclusively with one of the city’s leading manufacturers in the leisure and modular industry. Our client produces an extensive range of products, and are looking to recruit an experienced Development Engineer.


The purpose of this Development Engineer opportunity is to execute technical projects relating to NPD & NPI functions and lead the business strategy for continuous improvement. 

You will be required to ensure that products, systems and associated processes have been through a thorough technical evaluation before introduction to production whilst working closely with Design, CAD, Prototype team, Process Engineering, Legislation, BOM and other functions to deliver Right First Time Quality.


Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross-functional continuous improvement and business-critical projects using NPI tools such as FMEA and risk analysis
  • CAD team to ensure all new developments fall in line with the latest design criteria and meet the required quality standards
  • Work with compliance specialists to ensure that the products meet current and future regulatory requirements.
  • Work in close conjunction with the prototype shop to ensure drawings and CAD data are updated to the correct validation level.
  • Ensure that all CAD data is checked to the pre-determined quality level before issued to the production line.
  • Provide technical CAD data to the BOM team.
  • Generate full detail drawings, 3-D CAD models and assemblies, cutting lists and other information to enable an RFT Quality to build to the NPD standards.


Knowledge & Experience:

  • Engineering-Based Qualification: ONC, HNC, Degree or equivalent to 5 years product knowledge and experience.
  • CAD C&G level 4 or equivalent to 5 years in-depth CAD use.
  • Experience in Inventor software
  • Good understanding of industrial construction and manufacturing processes.
  • Good understanding of 3D CAD technologies and associated processes.
  • Experienced in NPD, including DfM, testing and validation
  • Product Knowledge relating to Leisure Home structure & furniture and systems such as window &, chassis
  • Keen understanding of supplier and manufacturing process capabilities and tolerances and their impact upon design for manufacture
  • Knowledge of PLM Autodesk processes
  • Trained in the use of PLM, OCRs.
