Job Title: HS&E Coordinator
Salary: £25K - £29K DOE
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Location : Sutton Fields Industrial Estate, Hull

Cranswick are currently looking for a highly motivated and results driven Health and Safety coordinator, to support the site with the day to day health& safety and environmental issues, proactively improving the sites HSE systems and processes

Overall Purpose of the Role: 
You shall be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the health, safety and environment practice on site. Delivering best practice, complying with legislation and promoting a proactive HSE culture.  Reporting to HS&E Manager & responsible for HS&E Administrator 

Successful candidate will have:

  • Food safety Level 3
  • All core training and mandatory procedures
  • All relevant site/area policies, procedures & processes.
  • Minimum Nebosh General Certificate
  • Member of IOSH
  • Full UK Driving license
  • Familiar with Health,Safety&Environmental systems acrredited to ISO 14001/45001/5001
  • Must be a team player with a ‘can do’ attitude


  • Supporting the site in carrying out Health, Safety & Environmental assessments in line with legislation, to be updated and reviewed when necessary.
  • Be the first point of contact for all Health, Safety & Environmental issues.
  • Management and maintenance of the site Health, Safety & Environmental management systems and to assist in the certification of and management of the ISO 14001 (Environment),45001 (Health & Safety) & 50001 (utilities).
  • Proactively support the Health & Safety Management system for the site, driving new Health & Safety initiatives that will maintain and improve the sites Health & Safety function.
  • Proactively support the Environmental Management system for the site, driving new Environmental initiatives and projects that will maintain and improve the sites' Environmental function.
  • Coordinate effective site safety monitoring systems
  • Communicate and feedback current Health and Safety Legislation to the appropriate parties where necessary.
  • Creating and maintaining of onsite SSOW and Risk Assessments.
  • Implementing and management of site COSHH.
  • Assist in the reviewing of risk assessments after accidents/incidents.
  • Assist in maintaining the site Behavioural Safety Programme.
  • Liaise with General Manager in respect of updates and changes in the HS&E policies and procedures.
  • Conduct a full and thorough investigation of Environmental issues that occur on site or are reported to site.
  • Ensure all Health, Safety & Environmental issues/reports/complaints are reported/recorded correctly and accurately.
  • Undertake Internal Health & Safety auditing to maintain a safe working environment and systems
  • Proactively promote awareness of Health, Safety & Environmental issues throughout the site.
  • Support the General Manager with internal monthly H&S and Environment meetings.
  • Support the Training Co-ordinator to ensure the training matrix is updated on a regular basis and records correspond accordingly.
  • Support the implementation of the Company’s Quality, H&S and Environmental and Ethical policies.
  • Actively promote best practice health & wellbeing within the site
  • Be the point of contact and deal with Regulatory bodies for Health, Safety & Environmental issues.
  • Research training providers, ensuring cost effective options are sought and schedule training as required, once approved by the General Manager.
  • Deliver in-house training and inductions ensuring all relevant areas of H&S are conveyed via an appropriate medium i.e., language, handbooks, presentation etc.
  • Be ‘on call’ in conjunction with wider site team.
  • Ad hoc duties as required in line with your capabilities and range of skills
